As a new Saab owner, out of curiosity I decided to check the air filter and found an aftermarket version fitted.
I'm not sure which brand it is, but it's blue. (jetex possibly?)
Anyway my question is what is the best way to clean it?

I noticed K&N have there own cleaning kits, containing a cleaner and oil. Would something like that work?

Cheers,

Very important to make sure the filter is absolutely dry (overnight in the airing cupboard?) before re oiling it, then DO NOT over oil it or you can get contamination problems with the MAF filter, which is just down wind of the filter and before the turbo. As long as you take these precautions you should have no trouble. My JR filter has been on the car about 20K miles now and I have cleaned and re oiled it once in that time, probably due for another inspection soon.
