Hi

I've seen a couple of things about this but was wondering if anyone could offer advice. The front suspension on my 99 9-3 does a loud squeak over speed bumps. This stops after about 10mins. Is there a simple fix for this - seems stranger it stops after the car has 'warmed' up.

Thanks in advance and apologies if this is covered elsewhere in detail.

Cheers

I had a similar fault and i tweaked the anti-roll bar drop links a bit tighter. If you are not familiar with the link - look at the lower suspension arm, you will see a small vertical rod. It gos through the suspension arm and has a nut on the botton. This is 13mm socket size (I think). If you tighten this, the whole rod will just turn. You need to put an open spanner (size 11?) on the rod itself, just above the suspension link. I just nipped mine a bit tighter as clearly the rubber bush has persihed/shrunk/worn away. This stopped the noise. I have 2 new links on order at present.

It may not be the cause of your problem, bit it is a simple thing to try, at no cost. One you hav egot the spanners out it is a 2 min job!

I had this problem over the last few weeks, especially going over speed bumps.
Got worse and worse until yesterday, when I thought id better have a look.

Rear engine mount was split, and the 2 halfs were rubbing together.

New mount ordered from Elkparts... £85 !!!
