Can anyone recommend a source for a new key? Does it have to come from Saab?

I managed to snap mine as I was taking it out of the ignition whilst jumping out ofthe car. Fortunately I was able to get the broken end out of the barrel!

Roughly how much are new keys?

What car do you have? 900 or 9-3? I think there are differences between the models.

An all in one key with the remote built-in will need to be programmed to suit your car by a dealer. Dealers seem to charge what they like. Best price for new key and programming is around £60 - some dealers will try for nearer £100.

I would have thought that you could just get a new blade for the original key, my car (MY2000 9-3) came with two keys (with security chip) two fobs and a replacement blade in its own plastic wallet. No reprogramming would be required if a new blade could be fitted.
