These cars are not selling for anything like one thinks they should. They are not even making book price, and TBH, your car sounds expensive and is above average mileage.

Parkers gives the following information for your spec car with average mileage:

Saab 9-3 Coupé (98-02)
2.0HOT Aero 3d 1999/V
Average mileage 70,000 miles
Original Price £26,260
Independent Dealer £3,540
Private Good £3,275
Private Poor £2,390
Part Exchange £2,845

on the basis of which your car is unlikely to sell at £3800.

John - when is parkers ever right with cars that are modified or slightly different to the norm.

£1000 spent in last 12 months on upgrades - BSR programmable stage 1, suspension sprinbgs and bushes etc.

anyhow - Price is now offers over £3500 £ 3500 £ 3500

A modified car, arguably, discourages some buyers. http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif

Personally, I do not believe that the Saab 9-3 is a particularly sought after car, there are plenty out there and they are not making the Parkers price, let alone the price that you are asking for yours. I truly hope that you sell your car for what you want for it, but I do believe that you are expecting too much for it. Further, it is the first model year of the Aero, so it does not have the more desirable Viggen bumpers and 17" alloys. Your car is, in ways, like the 1999 Sport but with T7 instead of T5 and an extra 5bhp.

It's a difficult game selling modified cars, the average punter will be put off by a car they expect to have been thrashed and in need of higher than normal maintenance requirements.

I was lucky, I found a buyer for my 9-3, locally, who paid a fair price for the car (not far off the Parker's valuation for a 40K mile car, but mine had done 102K....) and who was actively seeking one with the right mods.

Auto Trader is worth a punt in my experience...mine sold within 5 days of going on line on their website and the phone didn't stop ringing for quite a while after.
