My 9000 Aero gearbox gave up on Saturday. My local specialists are pretty sure it’s the diff in the gearbox, and given the car’s age/condition, and that I'm no mechanic myself it hardly seems worth having it fixed (new box required).

That means I’ve got to get rid of a 93 9000 Aero manual, red, 145k on the clock, with the full leather aero interior with electric memory seats, acc (new condenser, evaporator, heater matrix and cabin blower) etc. It has been lowered and has refurbished graphite-coloured Carlsson wheels with new Dunlops on the front and decent Goodriches on the back. There is a 3” aftermarket exhaust and uprated air filter fitted and a matt black grille. Clear indicator lenses. Cat 1 alarm. Private plate G999HSG.

There's a monutain of history, from new, showing full servicing by main agents and specialists.

It has an MOT until 22 May 2007 but will, unless you're very quick, be SORN.

Known problems:

Gearbox
Lambda sensor failure means “Check Engine” light is on
Disabled “door open” sensor on offside rear door
Bubbling on front arches
Cracked rear reflector panel
Some interior switches’ backlighting doesn’t work, everything else works.
Paint is tired on upward-facing panels

I could scrap it but there’s surely too much good stuff to save. A well-known Saab breaker and parts dealer offered me £100 for it if I could get it to them, but the parts alone must be worth many, many times that. A keen mechanic could replace the box and have a good runner.

As it doesn't run, anyone interested will have to collect it on a trailer or a dolly. I can probably arrange this at a cost.
