The time has come for me and my beloved 9000 to part company. I've owned and cherished the car for nearly 7 years, but as they say, all good things must come to an end.

I've adopted a fairly conservative approach to my tuning- the upgraded parts are all well within their comfortable operating range. Yes, you can get a "stock" Aero to turn out nearly the same figures, but not with the same reliability.

Engine:
· Speedparts induction filter
· Abbott racing Intercooler
· Abbott racing Intake pipe
· Abbott racing big exhaust valve gas flowed head
· Hybrid T3/T28 roller bearing turbo
· Green giant injectors
· 255lph fuel pump
· JT 3” downpipe
· Abbott Racing SS exhaust system including cat bypass silencer
· Forge dump valve
· Aquamist water injection
· Custom ECU mapping- 310hp+, 330lbft+

Chassis:
· PI progressive springs (-40mm)
· Koni adjustable shocks
· Poly front wishbones
· Poly rear ARB bushes and piggy-back ARB
· Front & Rear strut braces
· Limited slip differential
· Custom strengthened gearbox with 4.05 final drive
· Sachs uprated clutch pressure plate
· 18” Technomagnesio wheels with summer and winter tyres
· AP Racing 4 pot brakes
· Braided hoses front & rear
· DS2500 pads

Interior/other:
· Aero seats and doorcards
· Component speakers and dual 10” 200W RMS subs
· Satnav system with 6.8" widescreen
· Auto dimming rear view mirror
· Ageless personal plate to stay with car

It's by no means subtle yet it is very comfortable and reassuring. I've just bought a 9-5 Aero (auto!) which is so smooth that I was worreid about going back to the 9k. I shouldn't have been. Driving it again felt so good- it is so positive on the road. Abbott reckon it to be one of the sharpest 9ks they know.

It's very difficult to put a value on a car like this. There are over £10k worth of performance upgrades alone, plus all the other major items that have been replaced within the last 70k miles: steering rack, alternator, tripod joints, piston rings, bearing shells. It's been serviced every 6k ever since I've had it.

There's a good handful of spares to go with it including MAP sensor, APC solenoid, DI cartridge, A/C compressor.

I’m looking for offers IRO £3,000 How does that sound?

If you're seriously interested PM for more info and pictures

Hi Bubbles. I'm loving your car & if I had the readdies I'd have snapped your arm off. Is it sold already?
But .. I noticed that you listed gearbox as "custom-strengthened" .
Could you explain what that means as I'm hoping to get mine re-built & would like to make a good job of it.

No, it's not sold yet- I'm not yet ready to let her go for less than the breaking value!

The gearbox work consisted of two elements:

a) rectifying the infamous circlip problem- in essence the shaft (and possibly gear, I can't remember now) was machined in order to allow the use of packing washers to spread the load.
b) rather than use the crushable washer to set the preload, it was shimmed.

Thanks Bubbles - I'll pass that info on to my man. Now I'm off to organise a bring and buy sale to see if I can raise the cash for your monster car http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif
