I have had my 9000 for 3 years know and for the first time this year in the last couple of weeks it has steamed up several times, it has never done this before It has the climate control system which seems to be working fine it is always on AUTO I get the heated windows the temp rise as I ask or cools as I ask, it switches from widows to side all seems ok. I have looked at previous threads and from that I have checked

The external temp sensor that displeays on the dash, seems ok only 1 degree out.
The cabin temp sensor is spot on.
I can if I switch every thing off hear the recirculte air motor working.
No smell of anti frezze

It can happen any time, my journey is about an hour it starts to mist from the top of the widows ALL the windows, it does clear in about a minute but for that time I cant see a thing. It does not happen every journey or in the same place

I have thougt that I might have hit a very cold pocket of air but if any one have any other thoughts it would be appreciated

If the temp got down below 4/5 deg, the air con switches off to prevent it icing up and you revert to a standard heating system without the effects of the dryer, also your drain holes in the aquarium might be blocked and there might be water lying in there and getting into the system when you go round a corner.

Hi

I have exactly the same problem, you mention that it could be a blocked drain.

On my car MY96 the only drain I know of is about half way down the false bulkhead, about 2" in diameter with a rubber flap over it.

Are there any others that I don't know about?

Thanks.

Just had a thought does the air con system use the external temp sensor in the bumper or is there another one, if it uses the one in the bumper thats not so good as this gives incorrect reading if you are sitting in traffic which could switch the system on when it should be of and then when you move it would switch it of, would this cause my problem.

HI THERE , I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM....i found the blend motor which is located in front of the driver, under the scuttle trim in the exchange box, was not opening/closing correctly. its a bit of a mission to change and the motor was about 100 quid but after some swearing the acc all worked fine !!!!!!
hope this helps you out ............ .............. .............
