When I turn left I get a "Check Radiator" warning. I suspect the first thing I should do is check coolant level. Anyone have experience of this. Dicky sensor somewhere? Advice appreciated.

The expansion tank has the sensor for coolant level in it. Turning a corner will alter the level of the liquid at the sensor, so it can rise or fall depending upon direction. If it's coming on then yes, the level needs checking.

Silly wording really because it should say "Check Coolant" because there's nothing wrong with the radiator!

I have to say that i'm impressed that the Saab "Check Oil" light comes on when you've still got more than minimum on the stick. They usually seem to wait until you've got way too little or no oil pressure from my experience.

And then again.. if it wasn't LEAKING, and is being serviced correctly, why would the level drop?

I'd definately check 'Radiator' system if my coolant level dropped to the extent that 'Check Radiator' light came on.

but that's my point, you're not necessarily checking the radiator but the coolant system as a whole. There's still no point staring at the radiator which is a passive component when there are so many other places where failure could occur.

Any hose junction, heater matrix, water pump, head gasket etc.

I guess that "Check radiator, hose junction, heater matrix, water pump and head gasket" was too long to fit on the display

Anyway, I have the same problem on my 9-3. Sometimes comes up with "Check Coolant" when I start the car. Had the whole system tested since there is no loss of fluid. No problem can be found.

Have concluded it is a dicky sensor in the float in the coolant expansion tank. Got a new one - just not fitted it yet http://www.saabscene.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Had a similar problem on my Aero for ages, which got gradually worse. Usd to be fine for several thousand miles and then complain. In the end I got fed up with the mounting costs of replacing antifreeze once a week and the system pressure checked. The problem turned out to be a leaking water pump.

This was also the same period of time where my washer bottle leaked constantly, so I had bottles of antifreeze and washer fluid in Evian bottles all over the car in case I needed it

Easy one, the Check (underlined) comes on with the "Oil Level" part on the EDU. Obviously I have only just turned my ignition on, I don't have major problems!
